Lick the walls to understand echoes

Exhibition

HOLON Berlin proudly presents Lick the walls to understand echoes – an exhibition which combines a psychoacoustic soundscape by Abigail Toll with interactive scenography and visuals by Anton Filatov. This audio-reactive installation showcases an expansion of Toll’s conceptual vision of her forthcoming album ‘Idol’ (Superpang) and embodies the physical and metaphysical aspects of sound in space that she felt while visiting Malta’s 5,000-year old Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum temple.

The composition and visuals weave together the spiritual, quantum and astronomical themes associated with the temple to create an environment for listeners to feel and imagine what remains of ritual in today’s techno-centric world. By drawing on the spiritual nature of ancient architecture and archetypes, the installation arrives at a critical moment as our world becomes increasingly devoid of symbols and their rites as they are warped through a technological lens.
